Press Release: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Sustainability Experts Series Launches 2023 Agenda
& Names Executive Editorial Committee
11 January 2023 - Broadcast Projects, a provider of marketing and event services to TV technology firms, today announces the launch of the Sustainability Experts Series, with a fresh roster of events, conversations and learning experiences planned for 2023.
The series will kick off with a fireside chat with EBU’s Sustainability Lead, Hemini Mehta and RTÉ’s Eileen Duggan on 14th February at 4pm CET / 3pm UK / 10am ET. Our host, Benjamin Schwarz, will focus the conversation on their personal journeys leading the broadcast industry towards sustainability in Europe. The session will also take a sneak peak at the key topics that will be covered by the Sustainability Experts Series in 2023, and will provide opportunity for networking.
A newly formed Executive Editorial Committee is driving the 2023 program, chaired by Benjamin Schwarz, Principal Consultant at CTO innovation Consulting. These events take place on Media Meet & Greet Connect 365, where the media industry can come together to address sustainability challenges via conversational networking with top experts and featured guests.
To focus the conversation and provide more opportunities for the industry to learn and collaborate, the executive editorial committee members driving the agenda are:
Chair: Benjamin Schwarz, CTO innovation Consulting (France)
Eileen Duggan, Manager, Sustainability & Environment Services, RTÉ (Ireland)
Trees de Bruyne, Innovation Manager, Bark Today (Belgium)
Jonathan van de Velde, Program & Communications Director, MediaNet Vlaanderen (Belgium)
Janet Greco, Founder & Principal, Broadcast Projects, and Executive Producer, Media Meet & Greet Connect 365 (Spain)
Events will take place on the second Tuesday of each month. The second event, on 14th March, will provide a practical view on how all of us in the media industry can sync with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
"With sustainability there are no quick fixes. No media industry stakeholder can do it alone. The world is becoming smaller and knowledge sharing is critical. These networking and conversation-driven events are fun and bring the industry together on the journey towards sustainable media," said Benjamin Schwarz.
“MediaNet Vlaanderen is an organization that is constantly in very close conversation with the media- and audiovisual industry active within Flanders and Belgium, and that monitors international trends that are of interest to the sector as a whole. Over the last few years we are noticing an ever-increasing interest in the topic of sustainability, and a growing urgency to adopt a ‘sustainable by design’ mindset. The awareness that a framework needs to be created where technology and sustainability meet each other and can lift each other up creates a lot of possibilities for media- and audiovisual companies, and the journey to get there is a very interesting one,” said Jonathan Van de Velde.
“It is a pleasure and an honour to be part of such an international collaborative process geared to increasing sustainability in the Audio Visual industry”, said Eileen Duggan.
The Sustainability Experts Series is an initiative of Broadcast Projects and Paris-based CTO innovation Consulting. It continues the earlier sustainability stream consisting of webinars and conversations on Media Meet & Greet Connect 365, a community platform that supports industry networking, conversations, webinars, trade shows and physical events.
