AI and Metadata: Meeting Report and Forthcoming Events
Fifteen experts from pay TV, public service broadcasting, AI and TV metadata came together in February 2020 at the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) in London to talk about AI technology challenges as they relate to TV metadata and the strategic trajectory around content recommendation and discovery.
Who could have possibly imagined that this event, sponsored by IET Media and hosted by Broadcast Projects, would turn out to be one of the last industry get togethers of its kind?
The event featured expert speakers including Hanna Lukashevich, Head of Semantic Music Technologies at Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology (IDMT) in Germany, and Jean-Pierre Evain, Principal Project Manager at the EBU in Geneva, who has been overseeing the Metadata Developer Network for over 10 years.
You can read the full meeting report here on the IET Media Technical Network Community website. IET Media is free to join. It’s a place where you can connect, collaborate and discuss a wide range of engineering issues without leaving your home or workplace.
