Free to Enter Awards at NAB Show 2020

Awards events are often a wonderful way to get recognition and publicity for your company’s achievements. Many award schemes are “pay-to-play” and, regularly used by marketing departments, they are a great way to generate awareness.

Awards form an integral part of the industry landscape as many companies clamor for recognition to stand out from the crowd. Some industry award events have more kudos than others, such as the those offered by our industry’s two biggest shows, IBC and NAB.

Nominations are Now Open for the NAB2020 Technology Awards

NAB’s annual awards highlighting significant technical achievements will be presented at the 2020 NAB Show. Nominations are now open for the National Association of Broadcasters’ 2020 Technology Awards, which are presented each year at the NAB. The awards highlight significant achievements in the field of broadcast technology:

  • Radio Engineering Achievement Award

  • Television Engineering Achievement Award

  • Technology Innovation Award

  • Best Paper Award

Each year since 1959, NAB has presented the Engineering Achievement Award to an individual for their outstanding accomplishments in the broadcast industry. In 1991, the Association began giving two awards – one for achievements in radio and the other for television.The Radio and Television Engineering Achievement Awards are presented to individuals for their outstanding accomplishments in these two fields. NAB’s Technology Innovation Award is presented to an organization showing an advanced technology exhibit or demonstration at the NAB Show that has not yet been commercialized. First presented at the 2009 NAB Show, NAB presents the award to organizations that bring advanced technology exhibits and demonstrations of significant merit to the NAB Show. The nominated exhibit should present advanced research and development projects in communications technologies that have not yet been commercialized Entry information and the application form can be accessed here.

The Best Paper Award honors the author(s) of a paper of exceptional merit that is published in the Proceedings of the 2020 Broadcast Engineering and Information Technology (BEIT) Conference, held each year as part of the NAB Show. To be considered, the paper must have been accepted for presentation at the NAB Broadcast Engineering and Information Technology Conference. The winning paper is selected on its writing clarity, technical accuracy and relevance to the Broadcast Engineering and Information Technology Conference attendees

You don’t have to be Alan Alda to be considered for an NAB Award. he distinguished actor, known for his role in the American 70s sitcom M*A*S*H*, recipient of the the Distinguished Service Award at NAB in 2019.

For these awards, you just have to read the rules carefully, follow the instructions and submit your work.
